Ghost Signals
A short cinematic built in Unreal Engine 5, inside a city still broadcasting to no one.
Neon cuts through haze that has no origin. Signage scrolls across a figure who doesn't look up. Somewhere above the alley, a screen cycles through an advertisement for something that no longer exists. The infrastructure of communication, running perfectly, with nothing left to say. The city isn't abandoned. It just stopped requiring an audience.
The look comes from deliberately broken optics. Anamorphic 50mm glass that halates and streaks in neon light, chromatic aberration at the frame edges, gate weave, light leaks that arrive uninvited. Lumen pulls the color across wet surfaces and into the dark between buildings.
The KitBash3D Cyberpunk kit and Bigmediumsmall's Tokyo Alley Artis series build the world, everything rendered in-engine, no compositing after the fact. The imperfections aren't added. They're what the glass remembers.
